Raised in Vancouver’s West End, Alexandra has been drawing since she could grip something suitable as to mark up a surface.

She was probably happiest at seven years old, being asked to illustrate fellow students’ notebooks with mermaids, anthropomorphic turtles and dragons, after getting over “five year olds are SO immature." but before chickenpox…
It was around this time that her mother is known to have lamented that her daughter would “grow up strange!” due to her choices in favourite over-breakfast viewing, such as “Beetlejuice”, “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” and “Ghostbusters”. She was right.

Though fascinated with the process of animation since she found out that "Bambi" actually walked as a series of drawings, Alexandra first tried her hand at hard-core nerdiness in Computer Science. When it became clear that her fondness for lines of code could not outmatch those lines rendered to paper in pencil or brought to life in motion, she changed focus… But she is still pretty nerdy, as has been recently witnessed in the form of a happy dance at receiving a sought after book in the mail. Really, a book.

Grown up, in relative terms, Alexandra is still an avid reader, and also enjoys musical theatre and theatrical costuming as a hobby. She has 8 years of dance training in classical Russian ballet as well as some jazz, and a brown belt in Nisei karate.

Now 21 and a recent graduate of the Art Institute of Vancouver, Alexandra hopes to make her mark in ways that kids (little kids and big kids) can continue to enjoy.

Happy animating in 3D (trained in Maya) and traditional 2D mediums, Alexandra is also a capable 3D modeler and would also love to have a hand, eventually, in the early stages of production – storyboarding or designing characters. Examples of this work can be found throughout the site, with more to come as it is available
